My name is Shanel Debattista , I’m 23 years old and I was born on the 24th of September 1986,  I grew up Msida for 19 years of my life with my mum and dad  , I now live in Pieta overlooking the beautiful marina and views of Valletta. I live with my parents and we have a blue Persian c at and an adorable pegenise dog, this year me and my boyfriend Andrew also got a gorgeous white kitten called Chloe. We are a very close family and my grandparents live right next door to us they moved 3 years ago so we can be more united which is so nice for me as I'm always very busy and this way I get to see them much more and appreciate every moment I can get . I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents and grandparents for the love they gave me throughout my upbringing and the support they give me always when I need or don’t need it!

 
I always loved Movies, Dancing and watching music videos from a very young age and I can always remember copying all the dancing moves of all the pop artists and eventually performing them in the school concerts, at home wherever I hear songs I would just move ….Infect I took dancing lessons at school and was always very active and attended all sporty events.  Since I loved dancing so much at 9 I  started modern  Jazz and took it very seriously, I took part in the summer shows we used to prepare and all the big shows the company does yearly, at first the stage was quite overwhelming from dancing in a small studio/home/school to such a big venue but as time went by my confidence and ability to perform grew in me and I must say it has come a passion, as time went by I started loving pictures also and from the age of 15 till today I take pictures almost everyday to capture all the good moments in my life and have what to show to my family as I get older.

I attended a private primary and secondary school and after took a sales and marketing diploma, I now work in a well known automotive company with premium brands, I love working with people and learning new things, it gives me that everyday kick I need! I also love languages unfortunately I don’t have time right now due to work and other commitments to learn more but I’m really looking into learning Spanish one day. I love to travel and have a lot of places in mind for the next 10 years and knowing the languages gives you a more full experience of the place you are going to. So far I’ve been to London and Italy a couple of times, and Zimbabwe the next one after Johannesburg  has to be Greece I just love the way their homes and streets are build  all the islands  together  just look amazing and Its defiantly going to be my next destination! 

At the age of 13 I started modeling with Sue Rossi and I simply fell in love with the catwalk and am working very hard to achieve more for my career, I have participated in various fashion shows and even appeared on local magazines and various adverts for the local market. I also won the titles of Miss Maltese Beauty, Miss Italia Nel Mondo Malta, nominated for the Malta Fashion Awards and took part in an international competition Miss Tourism world and placed 9th out of 86 countries. I have to say that the Miss World Malta Competition gave me the most satisfaction by far from all the contests locally I have participated in and I can’t wait to represent Malta in Miss World as I’m sure it’s going to be an overwhelming experience.
